To continue with our story.
Formally known as Camden Writers and Scribblers, the writing club is welcoming new members in 2021.
Camden resident Ms. Grace Sewell led the group until 2017, when Mr. Evan Lepherd took over the Presidency.
Camden Writers Inc started with three members and now has over twenty dedicated members that come together the first and third Tuesday of each month to share stories, writing tips and have fun with our writing.
At the Camden Writers Inc our motto is ‘Where Writing is Fun’ so come and join us and share your poems and short stories with all our members.
We meet at 930 AM in the Red Gum Room at the Narellan Library, at the corner of Queen & Elyard Street.
There are several reasons writers write. Some writers write to inform like a journalist, some write to persuade or to give their opinion. Another writer may write to entertain, and most writers write to express themselves.
So if you are reading this post, it means that you may like to write yourself, but you have not figured out a reason to join a writing group.
Well, let us give you some reasons.
Some individuals motivate themselves to write, for example, but others are just not self-productive and need that little push. Joining a writing group will surely get those creative juices going.
Joining a group can make you a better writer by your interaction with a group. Getting ideas, sharing ideas is a way for your writing to improve. This inspiration and motivation can also educate you in ways you may not even know.
Our group then takes all this effort and produces an annual anthology titled “Making a Splash” in various formats, paperback, eBook and audiobook. For example the 2019 edition of “Making a Splash” cannot be found online at Amazon, Booktopia, Bookdepository, Dymocks, Barnes and Noble, eBay and other online websites, it can, however, be found at Harry Hartog Booksellers and online here at our online store.
The best part of joining a group is that it is FUN!
OK, it is not a party group but a writing group type of fun which means that the effectiveness of your writing will improve with the interaction you have with your fellow writers.
If these are good enough reason, then consider joining the Camden Writers Inc. We meet every first and third Tuesday of the month at the Narellan Library.
Join us in writing your stories and sharing them with others
Come join us and share in our motto; “Where Writing is Fun!”
The Camden Writers Inc acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
