The Best Small Writers Group in NSW.

Welcome to the best small writing group in Camden New South Wales

Camden Writers Inc has helped people put pen to paper for the past 24 years. All these years the one objective of the group has been to have individuals come and join in writing their stories and sharing them with others.

We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Redgum Room at the Narellan Library. For information on how we operate contact our President Gary Ireland on 0439 430 566 or call the Narellan Library on 02) 4645  5039

Camden Writers Inc started with three members and now has over twenty dedicated members that come together the first and third Tuesday of each month to share stories, writing tips and have fun with our writing.

Come and join us and share your poems and short stories with all our members.

We meet at 9.30 AM in the Red Gum Room at the Narellan Library, at the corner of Queen & Elyard Street.

There are several reasons writers write. Some writers write to inform like a journalist, some write to persuade or to give their opinion. Another writer may write to entertain, and most writers write to express themselves.

So if you are reading this post, it means that you may like to write yourself, but you have not figured out a reason to join a writing group.

Well, let us give you some reasons.

Some individuals motivate themselves to write, for example, but others are just not self-productive and need that little push. Joining a writing group will surely get those creative juices going.

Joining a group can make you a better writer by your interaction with a group. Getting ideas, sharing ideas is a way for your writing to improve. This inspiration and motivation can also educate you in ways you may not even know.

Our group then takes all this effort and produces an annual anthology titled “Making a Splash”

Joining our group will mean that the effectiveness of your writing will improve with the interaction you have with your fellow writers.

If these are good enough reasons, then consider joining the Camden Writers Inc. We meet every first and third Tuesday of the month at the Narellan Library.

Come meet some of our writers!

Join us in writing your stories and sharing them with others

The Camden Writers Inc acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

FEATURED WRITERS OF THE MONTH

Each month our writers set themselves topics to write about for the next two weeks. Here are some of the stories that come from this exercise.

Writing Meetings

We are moving from zero to one, not from one to a hundred. That means we are focused on creating new writing ideas, story lines, not copying the existing ones. So join us and see how far you can go!

The passion of our members is showcased in our yearly anthology, which features a diverse collection of stories spanning various genres and styles.

Your Passion

Your passion for reading and writing brought you here. Explore our website and join the Camden Writers Inc and pass on the enjoyment of your writing to others.

EACH YEAR THE CAMDEN WRITERS PRODUCE AN ANTHOLOGY OF THEIR WORK.

Reading of Stories

In our meeting members share the stories or poems they have written with the attending members. After a reading, members offer a critique of the work read in the hope the writer is inspired to perfect his or her work.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Camden Writers website. This is our window to the world. We are a group of like-minded people from all walks of life who delight in telling stories. Sometimes the stories come from our own experiences. Sometimes they are just made up.

Some of our members are recognised authors of books, some have had work published by magazines or websites and some just write for the amusement of the group.  You will find examples of our stories on this website and if you are interested in reading more stories or in coming along to our meetings to hear our work read go to the CONTACT page and send us an email.
